This Easter, our city is packed with lots of 'egg-citing' activities for the whole family to hop into. There's fun for everyone, whatever the weather, so check out the list below for what's on in Exeter during the Easter holidays.
There's lots of fun, and educational, activities taking place at RAMM (Royal Albert Memorial Museum) over Easter as you can create a fabulous 'dot-print' of your favourite museum object, as well as the chance to make your own woven paper artwork with their 'Double Elephant Print Workshops'. If you're up for a laugh, then don't miss the Comic strip capers' where you can design a single-page comic strip.
A great way to explore the city and discover its rich history is with a daily, free Red Coat Guided Tour which set off from Cathedral Green. For something completely different then then head beneath the city streets and join a fascinating guided tour of Exeter's Underground Passages, the only ones of their type in the UK.
'Eggs Marks The Spot' at Crealy Theme Park as a pirate themed easter egg hunt will lead young visitors on a quest to reveal the precise locations of the hidden eggs, using your very own prehistoric map to win an egg-ceptional chocolate prize. During the Easter holidays they'll also be opening your favourite rides following the Winter season including Twister, Tidal Wave and other water attractions.
Embark on an exciting Easter egg hunt amidst fairies and ferns at Canonteign Falls. Explore 90 acres, seek out hidden eggs, and revel in the scenic waterfalls, serene lakes, and adventure play areas. Plus, be on the lookout for a brand-new family of willow Dinosaurs making their debut. New alpaca experiences also begin from the 9th April.
Enjoy some fresh air, a little bird-related learning for the kids, and help raise funds for the RSPB with their fun Easter Trail at Darts Farm.
There's a crackin' Easter going down at Bear Town as the Easter Bunny has hidden eggs throughout the Town and needs help from some little bunnies to find them all. Once all the eggs have been found, all paid children will be given a very special Easter gift to take home and enjoy. Mud, laughter and memories are guaranteed on an adventure at The Bear Trail over Easter. After tackling The Trail all children can collect an Easter certificate and a small sweet treat from the cafe.
It's all aboard for lots of fun at Seaton Tramway as to start the holidays they have a free Easter 'Egg-Tram-Aganza!' followed by 'The Seaton Pearl' pirate tram. If that's not enough to keep you busy then the dinosaur tram adventure comes with music, stories, a fossil dig, and a dinosaur activity area at Colyton Station.
There's lots of Easter adventure to be found at Killerton where you can follow the trail route around the garden and chapel grounds. You'll be rewarded with a chocolate egg for completing all the fun-filled activities. You can even get your four-legged friend their very own dog friendly trail sheet.
Join the giant egg hunt this Easter at RHS Garden Rosemoor to win a chocolate prize and discover the garden in all its spring glory. Pre-schoolers can also enjoy spending time in the garden by joining the Education Team for a Welly Walk adventure.
Little ones love a train journey and if you fancy a little trip along the coast or river, while leaving the car behind, regular GWR services depart from Exeter Central and St David's rail stations. Sit back and soak up the views along one of the country's most beautiful railway journeys for a day trip to the seaside towns of Dawlish and Teignmouth. Alternatively, take in the sights of the River Exe on the way to Exmouth, where from here you can catch one of the Stuart Line Cruises.
If an Easter Afternoon Tea, with an Easter egg hunt, sounds rather tempting then book your place at the Mercure Exeter Rougemont Hotel.
Spring is in full bloom at the Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary and you can join Drizzle's Green Guardians Easter Trail to learn all about the spring wildlife. You might stumble upon a hidden Easter Egg if you're lucky! The World of Country Life are also hosting lots of egg-citing events throughout the holidays.
Step into a world of miniature marvels at Babbacombe Model Village and children who are successful in their Easter egg hunt will be rewarded with a treat. If the weather isn't looking too great then don't worry as our city is full of indoor activities and attractions including escape rooms, climbing centres, leisure centres, board game cages and much more to help keep the kids happy.
