Exeter's location in the south west of England means it benefits from a mild climate, compared with more northern cities. However we do of course have the occasional rainy day, but this doesn't have to stop you enjoying our beautiful city as there is a great choice of indoor attraction and activities in Exeter!
Morning
Head to the Royal Albert Memorial Museum to discover interactive exhibits and renowned collections. There is so much to see that you'll need to stop for refreshments in the RAMM Cafe! Regular events including family activities, mean there is always something new to see and do at RAMM.
Lunch
Just across the road from RAMM is the Guildhall Shopping Centre, which has a great choice of undercover restaurants for lunch.
Afternoon
Browse the shops inside the Guidhall Shopping Centre, then head to Exeter Cathedral to explore inside this 900 year old Gothic building.
Next, walk up through Princesshay, a partly undercover shopping quarter featuring over 70 shops from big name brands to smaller independent and regional brands. A walk to the top of Princesshay will bring you to Exeter's most unique attraction, its Underground Passages. This network of subterranean passages can be explored on a guided tour, and are not for the claustrophobic!
Evening
Still have some energy to burn? Head to the Quay Climbing Centre to have a go at scaling the south west's largest indoor climbing wall. Then walk across the quayside to one of the cosy pubs here for dinner with riverside views.
