Come As You Are is a vibrant one-day festival exploring gender identity and celebrating the trans, non-binary and gender diverse communities of the South West. The day is FREE and includes a varied programme packed with interactive activities and drop-in crafts, informative talks and discussions, music and art, and much more!

11am – 6pm | Stalls

AUDITORIUM
11am – 2pm | Family Zone with the Intercom Trust
We will have arts and crafts activities, games and space to sit and chat with other families. Intercom trust staff will be there if you want to find out more about what we do.
2.30pm – 4.30pm | Protest Placard Making
The workshop will involve a short discussion on local activism and how that might look for queer people under the new Labour government. After this discussion, we will then use paint, pens, and collage from recycled materials to create protest placards about issues facing local queer people.
7pm – 9pm | Inclusive Ceilidh by Devon Folk Orchestra
with interval performance by the Devon Inclusive Folk Ensemble.
Come and have a dance at Wren Music’s inclusive ceilidh. All dances will be called by professional caller Jon Dyer who will adapt the dance to make sure they work for everyone.
WORKSHOP
11am -6pm | Clothes Swap
Not only is clothing a great way of expressing your style, it’s also a great way to explore you gender and how you want to present yourself to the world.

11am -5pm | Art Market
A pop-up art market will showcase the wares of local trans, non-binary and gender diverse creatives.
11am -5pm | Stickerbomb As You Are
A sticker making workshop encouraging you to make art about yourself, your identity, anything you find fun, in a master plan to create one giant stickerbombed mural celebrating Exeter’s trans and non-conforming community.
STUDIO 2
12pm -12.45pm | Rethinking Transgender Representation in the Media
An open discussion, where we will rethink the ways in which transgender and gender-nonconforming people are represented within popular forms of media, including news, television, social media.
1pm -1.45pm | The Cass Review and Trans Healthcare, what is to be done?
With the worsening situation on transgender healthcare, especially for children, how can the trans community support one another through activism, mutual aid and advice?
2pm -2.45pm | Hands Off Our Bodies: Navigating the intersections of disability, queerness and bodily autonomy
We will be discussing the ways in which queerness and disability overlap leading to an experience of having our bodies and identities policed and controlled by society.
3pm -3.45pm | Trans Pride Exeter?
In this session we aim to discuss and answer three questions; Trans Pride Exeter – do we need it? What would it look like? And who wants to be involved to make it happen?
MEETING ROOM
11am-1pm | Transmasc Makeup Workshop
An introduction to Transmasc make-up and techniques, led by experienced make-up artist Melanie Thornton.
1.30pm-3pm | Intro to woodworking tools and mini chopping board making
Three half-hour sessions, 1:30pm, 2:15pm, 3pm
4pm-5pm | Bath Bomb Making with Lush Exeter
