Valentine's Day doesn't have to cost the earth as it should be about spending precious time with your loved one.

We've put together our top picks on how to make that special day one you'll treasure but without having to spend lots of money to declare your love.

Museum of the Moon - Exeter Cathedral

There's always a sense of romance in the air about Exeter Cathedral so how about experiencing artist Luke Jerram's stunning installation 'Museum of the Moon'. Returning to the magnificent nave of Exeter Cathedral, the seven-metre sculpture features detailed NASA imagery of the lunar surface, with each centimetre of the internally lit spherical sculpture represents five kilometres of the moon’s surface.

Museum of the Moon is on display throughout February so you can even book a special visit on Valentine's Day itself. How's that for sharing your love to the moon and back!

Dartmoor: A Radical Landscape - RAMM

If you share a passion for Dartmoor with your significant other then RAMM's latest exhibition is just for you. Dartmoor: A Radical Landscape explores Dartmoor’s evocative landscape through photography, film, and Land Art, showcasing the artists love and dedication for this special place. Expect to see your favourite Dartmoor locations, such as Wistman’s Wood, in a new light.

Entry to RAMM is free and tickets for this exhibition are only £6.

Underground Passages

How deep is your love? Well, you could put this truly to the test with a unique visit to Exeter's famous Underground Passages - the only ones of their kind open to the public in Britain! Narrow, dark, interesting - it's not the most romantic setting we know but it's certainly memorable and it's not every day you get to go back in time and take a walk beneath the streets and buildings of Exeter.

Ticket's to the passages are only £7.50 but pre-booking is advisable as they are popular.

La Vie en Rose - Cygnet Theatre

A night of Parisian passion, heartfelt blues and sultry jazz makes for a perfect date night at the Cygnet Theatre. La Vie en Rose sees five musicians with wide-ranging individual backgrounds in classical music, traditional jazz, rock, blues, country, ragtime and roots, pulled together by the shared pleasure of gypsy jazz and hot swing. Top musicianship and top entertainment to share with your loved one on Saturday 15th February.

Haldon Forest Park

How about escaping it all with a visit to Haldon Forest Park, where if you're lucky you might have the trails to yourself and you can fall in love with the great outdoors.
