Boulder Exe is the South West’s newest bouldering centre, designed for everyone - from first-timers to experienced climbers. Located less than 15 minutes’ walk from Exeter city centre and close to the university and college, it’s the perfect place to move, climb, and connect.
Never climbed before? No problem. If you’re aged 7 and above, Bouldering is the easiest way to start - no ropes, no harnesses, just you, the wall, and a soft mat to land on. It’s fun, social, and seriously addictive. Our colour-coded climbs make it easy to find your level, and there’s always a fresh set of problems to try. No experience needed - just turn up, take your time, and see what it’s all about. Our Boulder Basics sessions are the perfect way to get started if you’d like some guidance from our friendly team of instructors.
With 940 square metres of climbable walls spread over two floors, there’s plenty to explore. We’ve got a dedicated board zone featuring a 2024 MoonBoard, a fully articulating Kilter Board, and a Tension Board 2 - all powered by smartphone apps to track your progress and set new challenges. And if you want to experience the thrill of climbing on competition style boulders, we are one of the few UK walls to feature The Titan, an IFSC-accredited competition wall designed by EP Climbing, fresh from the Paris 2024 Games.
But Boulder Exe isn’t just about climbing. You’ll find a fully equipped strength and conditioning gym, a yoga studio and a great café serving fantastic home made pizzas and great coffee. Come and see what’s on offer and be part of our growing community.
