About
Riverside Valley Park extends for several miles through the city forming part of a major wildlife highway linking Exmoor to the sea. The character of the park changes down its length, becoming more informal and richer in wildlife. There are some fine circular walks with longer routes for the more ambitious walker.
The River Exe and its floodplain have always been vital to the wellbeing of Exeter. In the past the Exe Valley was the main trade route bringing wealth and power to the City. The Valley still contributes to the quality of life in Exeter; providing green open space a short distance from the City's commercial centre and close to where people live and work.
