Hire a Bike to explore the beautiful Exe Estuary Trail, part of the National Cycle Route 2. One of the best cycle trails in the country, it is accessible for all. Start your journey in Topsham at Route 2 Bike Shop, or in Route 2 Café -named after the cycle route and celebrating the café cycle culture that is sweeping the country.

Hire a hybrid bike that is perfect for the cycle paths. Booking is advisable during school holidays. Electric bikes are also available.


Route 2 Bike shop has a full range of bikes to buy, accessories, clothing and a cycle mechanic for full repairs and emergency repairs. Cycle Maintenance workshops available on request.

Repairs, maintenance, workshops
Route 2 can offer simple emergency bicycle repairs, as well as routine maintenance. Liz Hodges, owner, is a fully qualified G&G cycle mechanic and is always happy to help with any bike queries in non-jargon terms !!. We also offer routine maintenance workshops, so there’s no excuse not to get your hands dirty!

Topsham is 4 miles south from Exeter. Junction 30 M5 – follow signs to TopshamPark at Holman Way longs stay Car Park (turn next to train station). The Quay is short stay only. Route 2 Bike Shop is next to the mini roundabout from Fore Street, The Quay & Holman Way.

Train – Topsham station- 5 mins walk towards the quay along Holman way – Bike shop is on you left at end of road.Bus – T Bus from Exeter stops on the Quay- bike shop by mini roundabout.Bus – 57- Exeter / Exmouth – stops- train station or Topsham High St. Follow signs for the Quay.
