Join us for a remarkable exploration of how our bodies keep us alive – and what simple changes might allow us to live longer.
Biomedical researcher Professor John Tregoning is joining us from Imperial College London to tell the unlikely story of how, against all odds, we manage to stay alive. Despite a multitude of ways our bodies can kill us – from inherited genetic conditions, through heart attacks, autoimmune diseases, the delicate workings of the brain, to over 17,000 known diseases affecting humans, and countless toxins in our environment – we are persisting. But how?
We’ll embark on an experimental quest, taking an organ-by-organ tour of the human body, testing ‘life-extending’ diets and exercise regimes to separate fact from fad. John will offer compelling insight into how our bodies work, and how we can best look after them to ultimately live longer, healthier lives.
We're joined by the lovely Bookbag Team who will be selling copies of John's book.
