#ClimateScam?

As the world faces increasingly devastating climate-related disasters, why do so many people believe that the climate crisis is nothing more than a hoax? In this eye-opening documentary, Jaz, a young mobile hairdresser and social media-savvy Gen-Zer, embarks on a journey to uncover the truth.

#ClimateScam? follows her as she visits everyone from climate scientists to climate sceptics, looking at how misinformation and conspiracy theories are affecting climate scientists, young people – and potentially our ability to tackle the biggest challenge that humans have ever faced.

Plan Z
Dir. Louisa Jones & Vladimir Morozov | 24mins

Are scientists doing enough to sound the alarm about climate breakdown? Plan Z traces the motivations of British researchers who’ve turned to civil disobedience to warn the public directly, risking arrest, a criminal record and their professional reputations.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Natalie Whitehead from Exeter Science Centre, Lisa Hoerning from Students Organising for Sustainability & Regan Mudhar from the Global Sustainability Institute, chaired by Claire Wallerstein producer of Cornwall Climate Stories.

Post Screening Discussion Panel

REGAN MUDHAR
Regan studied physics with astrophysics at the University of Bristol, before embarking on a PhD at the University of Exeter, studying the “stratospheric pathway” and far-flung influences on winter weather and climate extremes. Regan is also passionate about inclusive and accessible science, supporting a range of outreach and public engagement initiatives and organisations, including volunteering with the Royal Meteorological Society and Exeter Science Centre.

NATALIE WHITEHEAD
Natalie is one of the Founders and Directors of Exeter Science Centre, an education charity working across the South West to educate, motivate and empower people to make a difference in the world, working with communities and schools on projects and events focused on the science and local relevance of global issues,
LISA HOERNING
Lisa has been active within youth environmental spaces since she was 14 as an organiser within Fridays For Future. Passionate about getting young people's voices included in environmental decision-making, she has also been on the RSPB’s Youth Council and worked with Teach the Future, campaigning to get climate education integrated across the curriculum. Outside of her work Lisa is usually found in the sea or on the coast path enjoying everything life and nature has to offer!
