A vibrant calendar of year round festivals make Exeter a cultural hub for the south west. This year's line-up is a real crowd pleaser with an array of festivals set to welcome and entertain visitors of all ages.
Exeter's historic Quayside is home to not one but two family-friendly festivals across the summer season as the popular Heritage Harbour Festival (7th - 9th June) is a celebration of our maritime history while the Quayside Shanty Festival (14th September) promises a day and evening of folk songs of the sea. For musical fans then every Sunday from 30th June to 25th August (except 28th July) then there's also Jazz on the Quay while Summer at the Quayside (26th July to 30th August) will be bringing free family activities to the quayside every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday over the school summer holidays.
June is shaping up to be a busy month for festivals in Exeter and kicks-off with with lots of laughter as the new Exeter Comedy Festival (7th - 8th June) presents great comedy in unexpected places while the Exeter Respect Festival returns to Belmont Park for its 27th anniversary, bringing communities together to celebrate their differences and commonalities.
For foodie fans then Northernhay Gardens will be filled with the amazing aromoa of Exeter Street Food Festival (14th - 16th June) while Exeter Phoenix's first Green Phoenix Festival (30th June) is all about inspiring a sustainable future through a free day of creativity and action.
Our four legged friends aren't forgotton about as Powderham is hosting Woofstock, (14th - 16th June) the UK's largest independent dog festival this summer. Bring your furry friend for lots of fun entertainment, including dog shows, live music, displays and much more. Powderham also welcomes the return of the Gone Wild Festival Devon (22nd - 25th August), the ultimate family adventure which includes over 100 free activities.
An annual event for over 40 years, Exeter Craft Festival (4th - 6th July) returns to Cathedral Green. A wonderful celebration of art, craft and entertainment, explore over 100 stalls in a unique tented village, showcasing the work of the West Country’s best artists and makers.
