The aim of this Summer School is to teach students, aged 8-18 years, the performing arts skills covering acting, singing and dancing and how these disciplines combine to create a performance. We will be working on aspects of characterisation and movement with the aim of putting on a 60-minute production of The Little Mermaid at the end of the week.
Each day will begin with a warm-up and then students will go into sessions based on acting, dancing and singing. They will be issued with the scripts and immediately start working on the show. As well as developing their performance skills, we will also be working with them on creating the props, sourcing the costumes and building the set. The aim is to experience all aspects of a production and how everything comes together.
