Let’s face it, nobody really likes God. With right-wing Christianity in the ascendent, that’s not going to change soon.
Enter the God Whisperer... Holy mischief-maker Reverend Maggy Whitehouse, the heretic’s heretic, an expert on Biblical abominations and a vicar who only uses those terrifying words, ‘have you found Jesus?’ to get herself a seat on an overbooked train.
Maggy Whitehouse is a Independent Catholic Priest and comedian. No, she’s not fluffy and no, she will not be trying to convert you. Think Father Ted in a slightly better cardigan.
Maggy extracts the Archangel Michael out of religion and its stupidities from inside the box and reinterprets the Bible in a kick-ass kind of way. She talks about God, to God, envies atheists, supports the spiritual and makes the whole darned ridiculousness of religion topical, relevant and very, very funny.
'Funny, warm and strangely inspirational.' Paul Tonkinson.
'One of the most unique, distinctive & brilliantly subversive acts I've seen in years. Oh and funny. Very funny' Chris Brooker, Bigmouth Comedy.
'What do you call a vicar who has you crying with laugher? Maggy Whitehouse.' West Magazine.
