Masks from around the world - Workshop for home educators

About

Join artist Ruth Webb for a mask-making workshop inspired by world cultures at RAMM. In this workshop you will create a mask using card, earth pigment paints and block printing. Together we will look at the meanings of colour, shape and patterns, and how we can use these tools to create a character. By the end of this workshop you will have created a mask that tells a story to take home and share with friends and family. No experience necessary. All tools and materials provided. Suitable for children aged 7 – 11, with an accompanying adult. Please ensure you book tickets for everyone that is attending. You will be based in a room where you can leave bags and coats and have a lunch break. Please bring a packed lunch. About Ruth Webb: Ruth Webb is a visual and performance artist that has worked in Theatre and the Outdoor arts for over a decade. She works in the realms of folklore and culture and is inspired by finding cultural connections through space and time. She loves to make characters big or small, and works mainly with natural or recycled materials. She has worked with many theatre companies in the south west and beyond including Theatre Alibi and Burn the Curtain. Ruth also co-runs a company called The Lost Giants making giants for processions, protests and festivals.
