This year's Early May Bank Holiday falls on Monday 6th May and there's no shortage of things to do with this extra time off here in Exeter.
There's events taking place both inside and outside Exeter Cathedral on Saturday 4th May, with An Opportunity to Wonder, Wander and Walk the Labyrinth or for those with a head for heights watch a group of brave individuals descend the Cathedral’s North Tower and join a day of fun-filled family friendly activities on Cathedral Green as part of the Abseil Family Fun Day.
If it's a trip to the theatre you're seeking then there's an array of exciting shows to choose from in and around Exeter. All the way from Australia to Exmouth Pavilion is Magic Men on Friday 3rd May while Exeter Phoenix is the place to be for live music as the Mad Dog Mcrea Weekender returns from 3rd to 5th May. It will certainly be A Night to Remember at Exeter Corn Exchange for motown fans on Saturday and you can laugh your way to the end of the Bank Holiday with Georgie Carroll bringing comedy to the Northcott Theatre on Monday.
Spend time outside in Exeter over the holiday weekend to enjoy the warmer spring weather and longer days. Hire a bike and cycle along the Exe Estuary Trail to admire the fantastic views along the River Exe or go for a walk around Exeter’s Green Circle Trail. Haldon Forest Park are celebrating the Gruffalo's 25th birthday on a brand new forest adventure and local community groups will be getting creative, writing poetry inspired by the blossom of the Killerton estate.
So make the most of the long weekend and celebrate the Early May Bank Holiday in Exeter!
