Cofton Holidays is a 5-star, family-run holiday park situated close to the south Devon coast, at Dawlish Warren. The site covers 80 acres of beautifully landscaped countryside, so there is lots to do, whether you’re staying on-site or visiting for the day!
Here is our pick of the top 10 activities at Cofton...
1. Swimming
With an indoor and outdoor pool, it doesn’t matter what the great British weather is doing, you can still enjoy a swim here! The indoor pool area also has hydrotherapy loungers, a sauna and steam room to relax in. If all the swimming has worked up an appetite, take advantage of the Dip & Dine offer.
The heated outdoor pool is perfect for soaking up the sun in the summer months and cooling off with a refreshing dip. Open every day from May – early September (weather permitting), it’s also open to day visitors, but check before you travel as during busy times priority is given to holiday park guests.
2. Splash pad
The Forest Run Splash Pad opened last summer, and is designed for all ages to cool off in the hot weather. Older kids will love the thrill of the water jets and getting drenched under the tipping buckets, and there are in-ground water features for little ones to safely splash around in!
3. High ropes
A recent addition to Cofton’s long list of activities, the high ropes course is great if you fancy a bit of adventure! Suspended between the trees in Cofton’s woodland area, there are 16 different obstacles to tackle, with rickety bridges, tunnels, rope crossings, tightropes, and even a skateboard, all suspended up to 8 metres off the forest floor – not for the faint-hearted!
4. Pump track
Another new addition is Cofton’s state-of-the-art scooter, BMX and skateboard pump track, designed by local BMX legend, Kye Forte. The figure-of-eight tarmac pump track has a continuous loop of banked turns, rollers and jumps, and is free of charge to use!
5. Adventure playground
In the woodland area beside the high ropes course, is an adventure playground, complete with rope crossings, a wooden climbing frame and zip line!
6. & 7. Arcade & Bowling
No British family holiday is complete without a trip to the arcade, and Cofton’s has a vast selection of modern video games, fruit machines, prize games, and rides. There is even American pool and a 10-pin bowling alley if you’re feeling competitive!
8. Soft play
As well as the outdoor play parks around the grounds, there is a soft play centre for under 8s situated in Amelia’s Cafe – perfect for keeping the kids entertained while you relax with a well-earned drink!
9. Fishing
If you’d like to have a go at fishing, book on a family coarse fishing experience on Cofton’s beautiful lakes, where a qualified coach will provide all the equipment and bait needed for your session, and show you how to catch your first fish!
10. Eat & drink
There is a great choice of places to eat and drink here, all serving the freshest local Devon produce – read our blog on Cofton’s fresh seasonal menu here. The award winning Amelia’s Café serves a selection of dishes, from hearty breakfasts and light lunchtime bites to a full a la carte menu using some of the best local ingredients. On Sundays, the Cofton Carvery is not to be missed, served from 12 – 4pm in the Warren Retreat. There's also the traditional Swan pub, Pizza Kitchen and the fish & chip shop!
Cofton’s restaurants and activities welcome day visitors, but as there is so much to do here, we highly recommend booking a short break! There is a great choice of accommodation for all budgets, from camping pitches to luxury hot tub lodges – visit their website to find out more.
