Clip ‘n Climb Exeter – climbing made fun!
Looking for an exciting activity that’s fun, active, and perfect for all ages? Clip ‘n Climb Exeter offers a unique climbing experience designed for everyone—from young adventurers to adults looking for a challenge. Located in the heart of Exeter, it’s a fantastic way to get moving, build confidence, and have a great time whatever the weather!
At Clip ‘n Climb Exeter, we’ve reimagined climbing to make it safe, accessible, and above all, fun! With over 25 unique climbing challenges, each one offers something different—whether it’s racing against friends, testing your balance, or taking on an adrenaline-fueled challenge like the Leap of Faith or Stairway to Heaven.
The best part? No experience is needed. Our automatic belay system takes care of the ropes, so all you need to do is clip in and climb. Whether you’re visiting as a family, a group of friends, or even for a team-building session, everyone can take part at their own pace. Sessions are bookable online and run throughout the day – check our website for availability.
Clip ‘n Climb is particularly suited for younger climbers – we’re open to everyone aged 4 and above. For those looking to improve their skills, our Youth Climbing Club ‘Rock Stars’ offers weekly sessions to develop skills, technique and agility on the wall. We also host birthday parties, offering a unique and unforgettable way to celebrate.
Refuel and relax
After your climb, unwind at The Workshop Café, which overlooks the climbing arena. Enjoy fresh coffee, homemade pizzas, toasties and seasonal specials—the perfect way to refuel after a session on the wall.
Progress onto rock climbing
If Clip ‘n Climb has given you a taste for the thrill of climbing on big walls, our top rope and auto belay climbs in Quay Climbing are a natural progression. Auto Belay Taster Sessions let you get straight on the climbing wall—no partner, no knots, no hassle. Just clip in, climb as high as you like, and the auto belay system will safely lower you back down just as it does in Clip ‘n Climb. Routes are graded by difficulty with climbs for everyone from beginners to the most experienced climbers.
Alternatively, our sister site Boulder Exe is one of the largest bouldering venues in the Southwest. No ropes, no hassle, just two floors of fantastic climbing fun for everyone aged 7 and upwards.
Whether you’re a first-time climber or a regular visitor, Clip ‘n Climb Exeter is the ultimate indoor adventure. So grab your friends, clip in, and start climbing!
