About

Dir. Jérôme Delafosse & Fabrice Schnoller. France, 2023, 90m
Wildscreen Festival 2024 Audience Award winner. This hugely popular feature film charts the rise of viral internet sensation, Hvaldimir the Beluga Whale, who was discovered off the coast of Norway with a strap, seemingly built to house a GoPro camera, attached to his back.
Co-directed by cetacean communication expert, Fabrice Schnoller, #Hvaldimir, Conversation with a Spy Whale, attempts to uncover this extraordinary whale’s origins, and whether he may previously have been working as a Russian spy....

The Best of Wildscreen Tour is being delivered in partnership with Wildscreen with support from the BFI Fan Exhibition Fund, awarding funds from the National Lottery in order to bring this project to more audiences across the UK. Look out for Best of Wildscreen Tour | OCEANS screening here on 23 March.
