Don't let the wet weather put a dampener on your Easter holiday fun, as Exeter is home to lots of egg-citing and creative indoor family activities.
RAMM
As a wet weather option, that's free to enter, then Exeter's Royal Albert Memorial Museum (RAMM) is hard to beat and it's a great example of how education can be lots of fun. For young chocolate enthusiasts, join the founder of Exe Chocolate for a delightful and educational chocolate-making adventure on 17th April. Also keep a look out for a hidden rugby ball and take a snap for the chance to WIN a Women's Rugby World Cup 2025 prize.
Exeter Cathedral
Another fantastic wet weather option is Exeter Cathedral and there's plenty of Easter-themed options to keep the kids entertained over the holidays. Visit the Cathedral until 17th April to enjoy a range of family-friendly Easter-themed activities, including a fun Easter egg hunt and the chance to decorate your own Easter basket.
Underground Passages
Come rain or shine, Exeter's Underground Passages are a fascinating place to explore and they're the only passages of this kind open to the public in Britain! Built to house the pipes that brought clean drinking water into medieval Exeter, brave children (and adults) will love squeezing through the optional narrow section - just watch your heads. The Underground Passages also have an average temperature of 15 degrees so you'll probably find it the warmest place to be this Easter.
Breakfast with bunny at The Ivy Exeter
The Easter bunny will be hopping into The Ivy Exeter on 20th April for an egg-citing Easter morning. Little ones will enjoy a tasty breakfast, joined by The Ivy Bunny, with bunny ears and bow ties for them to adorn themselves. After their morning of Easter fun, complete with bunny cookie decorating and a chocolate treat, families will also have a photo opportunity with The Ivy Bunny.
Crealy Theme Park
Here in Devon we often experience all four seasons in one day but with Crealy Theme Park you've got the complete all-weather attraction. Home to over 60 rides and attractions, with spectacular entertainment, live shows, Sooty Land and animals galore, if the weather gods are kind then there's an Easter egg hunt spread out across the theme par or hop indoors for some family fun at The Sooty Show.
PLUS, don't let the forecast dampen the fun! Get a FREE return visit thanks to Crealy's Rainy Day Guarantee if it rains for at least 30 minutes continuously on your visit.
Quay Climbing Centre
Home to the South West’s largest indoor climbing wall, if you're looking to burn off some energy and have a head for heights then the Quay Climbing Centre is a great family hang out, literally! It's the perfect wet weather destination, whether you are a committed outdoor sports enthusiast seeking shelter from the Great British spring weather or simply seeking a little adventure on your city visit.
If you've never climbed before then no problem. Boulder Exe is the easiest way to start - no ropes, no harnesses, just you, the wall, and a soft mat to land on.
Swimming
Not all the wet stuff is bad news this Easter as Sid's Swim Club returns to St Sidwell’s Point, Riverside Leisure Centre and Northbrook Swimming pools. Junior swimmers can claim a special certificate and activity sheet plus there's also a fun Easter colouring competition to win an eggciting prize.
Fun for all the family, hop, skip or splash your way to Exeter Leisure's pools this Easter.
Bear Town
Come and join Bear Town for an egg-cellent play adventure! During your two-hour play session, all children will be invited to take part in an exciting Easter egg hunt through Bear Town and will receive a delightful Easter surprise after the hunt.
