About

Have you ever interrogated why you’ve chosen a particular point of view to tell your story? Can you hear narrators’ or characters’ distinct voices in your head, or are you worried they all sound suspiciously like you? This three-hour workshop is for writers who are already developing stories, or even just characters, and wish to hone their narrative voices. If you’re feeling a little stuck, this is a great way to find another route into your story. Together, you’ll analyse a diverse range of masterful examples of voice and point of view; you’ll scribble a lot and share your experiences. Participants will come away with new writing and confidence in their chosen voices. Sarah is Associate Lecturer in Creative Writing at Birkbeck University.
