Starve Acre

About

Based on the novel of the same name by Andrew Michael Hurley, Starve Acre, like many films before it is set in God's Own Country of Yorkshire. However, it's the gods of the old world that are unearthed in this effectively tense and sinister 1970s British folk horror.

Matt Smith (Dr Who, Last Night in Soho) and Morfydd Clark (St Maud, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power) excel in their roles of a grieving couple stretched to breaking point by an unspeakable tragedy.

On the remote family farm of Starve Acre, an archaeologist becomes increasingly fascinated by a local myth that the ancient oak tree that once stood on their land holds the dark powers and teh secret to 'Dandelion Jack', whilst his wife Juliette turns to her sister the local community to find some kind of peace. But sinister forces are unwittingly allowed into their home, offering a disturbing possibility of reconnection.

On Sun 01 September, we have a special preview screening of the film followed by a live Q&A with director Daniel Kokotajlo. The film will be released on Fri 06 September.

Priority tickets are now available for 16mm, 35mm & 70mm members. Tickets will go on general sale from Monday 1st July.
