If you're feeling inspired by the 2024 Olympic Games then Exeter is home to lots of fantastic sporting venues where you can get involved.

Swim, bike, run, paddle and climb your way around the city this summer with lots of fun sports and activities to get involved in. You certainly don't have to be an Olympian to take part and you might discover a new favourite sport.

Saddles and Paddles

Fun for all the family, Saddles and Paddles offer bike, canoe and kayak hire from Exeter Quay. Take a leisurely ride along the canal with welcoming drink stops en route to keep you hydrated or enjoy the ride a little further on the Exe Estuary Trail – a traffic-free leisure route from Exeter to Exmouth & Dawlish. You don't have to be an Olympian to enjoy life on two wheels as electric bikes are also available and for those too young to peddle then trailers, child seats and tag-alongs are available for hire.

Princesshay Green

The Olympics come to the big screen at Princesshay Green (from 26th July to 11th August) where there'll be garden games and a table tennis table set up to help keep the whole squad entertained. If you're more of an armchair sports fan then you can also soak up the sporting action from a relaxing deck chair or picnic table. To fully immerse yourself in the summer spirit, grab some food and drinks from the nearby cafes and restaurants and dine alfresco while watching the sports action.

Quay Climbing Centre

Join a taster sessions where their instructors will guide you through the basics of climbing and soon have you scaling your first wall. For more advanced climbers then they also offer routes for all levels on their top roped and lead walls, ranging from 7 to 14 metres in height!.
