Goodnight Mr Tom

About

Presented by The Harrogate Dramatic Society.

Set in 1939, with the second world war looming, Goodnight Mr Tom is heart-warming and heart-wrenching in equal measure. Adapted from the well-known novel by Michelle Magorian, the action follows an evacuee, William, as he leaves his home in London and arrives in the idyllic English countryside.

This moving play explores the remarkable and moving friendship that occurs between William and an elderly recluse. All seems perfect, until William is suddenly summoned back to London by his mother, with devastating consequences. A must-see play that depicts the reality of life during the war and how life can change in a moment.

This amateur production of Goodnight Mister Tom is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd. on behalf of Samuel French Ltd. www.concordtheatricals.co.uk
